Put some R.E.S.P.E.C.T on your Skin

SKIN, Skyn, Skin, the largest organ of the body, is a shield created to protect and serve. Yes, you read that correctly, the skin is definitely an organ! We slather it with make-up, apply comedogenic products, muddle our hairline with wig glue and splash it with smell-goods a.k.a. perfume and cologne. The skin takes a whippin' from pollution, our work environment, extreme cold and warm temperatures, etc. Also, many times, we moisturize our skin with the incorrect emollient, which may result in clogged pores and other skin conditions. With all of this, many consumers ignore the longterm effects these products have on the body, but the skin remains loyal. Now every once in a while this protective shield, the skin, needs some TLC, and it will show us becuase it can't tell us. When peeling skin, dry patches and breakouts appear, thats when it is time to put some R.E.S.P.E.C.T. on your SKIN. So what's this R.E.S.P.E.C.T. I'm talking about? I thought you'd never ask.

R.E.S.P.E.C.T = Exfoliation and in our opinion, exfoliation is the key to renewed and vibrant skin. Yeah, you've heard about exfoliation, have seen videos on exfoliation and even knows someone that exfoliates, but is exfoliation incorporated in to your weekly skin regimen? You ain't gotta lie to me!👀(Sips Tea) Exfoliation involes removing the oldest skin cells from the skin's outermost surface. We prefer physical/mechanical exfoliation. Loofahs, scrubs, sponges and washcloths are exfoliation's tools of trade. This method may be slightly more abrasive, yet is more natural and yields immediate results. Whoever said beauty wouldn't hurt? 😊

Key Benefits of Exfoliation

  1. Unclogs pores.

  2. Removes dead skin cells.

  3. Reduces pore size.

  4. Evens out skin tones.

  5. Allows for better absorption of moisturizers and serums.

A variety of our Handmade Soap Bars are crafted with gentle, medium and coarse additives including colloidial oatmeal, coarsly chopped oatmeal and poppyseeds. This method is a sure-fire way for BrooklynWhipps to ensure your body receives some type of exfoliation. The Handmade Soap Bars listed below cleanse your skin and exfoliate when body scrubs are not easily available to you. So you are basically getting a 2 for 1, and we all love extras!

Using a scrub to revive the skin is necessary for the young and the mature adult. BrooklynWhipps Body Scrubs are totally devine and look good enough to eat. Brown Sugar is the base for three of the BrooklynWhipps Body Scrubs. Sugar retains more of its nutrients due to minimal processing and works remarkably when used on the delicate areas of the body. The Island Delight Body Scrub and Southern Comfort Body Scrub is gentle enough for use on the face and neck and we are all about sensitive skin. The Sugar & Spice Body Scrub, loaded Turbinado Sugar, is the go-to for rough areas of the body. Its larger sugar particles work great on the elbows, knees, feet, legs and upper torso. Turbinado Sugar x Coffee x Coffee Essential Oil = A Powerhouse Body Scrub. By the way, coffee is known to assist with cellulite removal.

What to expect after Exfoliation

Exfoliation may cause the skin to feel tight, extra sensitive and there may be a slight tingling sensation afterwards and that should be expected. Hyrdate the skin with a moisturizer after exfoliation. LIghtweight non-comedogenic oils like Argan Oil, Black Currant Seed Oil and Hemp Seed Oil work well. Moisturizing heals and hydrates the skin becuase it just went through a lot.

Whether you exfoliate with brown sugar, or white sugar, just remeber to exfoliate. Oh, and don't forget the lips...keep them soft with a lip sugar scrub! Remember to be patient with the process to see the progress.
